Major contribution to the awareness and mobilisation of all agents to motivate for the participation and to understand the initiatives and or projects. It includes information about the characteristics, necessities and advantages of Sustainable Development and the relevance for individuals or groups. One form are ‘Awareness Campaigns’ with street plays etc. The use or audiovisuals and other media support the goal of mobilisation.

Officers and managers
Visits to “Best Practice Examples” within China or abroad. The objective to understand existing initiatives with their achievements, problems and solutions.

Visits to examples of all kinds of successful/unsuccessful interventions etc.) These foreign exposures are extremely valuable because they involve all senses and increase the experience of the trainees.

Audiovisuals incl. computer based information programmes serve as a effective and efficient transmission of information. They cannot be effectively used if not embedded into other types of training and exposure, because they are mostly based on passive consumption of the target group. Skills-based short curses on all kinds of technical and social issues, necessary for the daily work. These courses should make up the majority of the training activities and always minimise classroom lecturing and maximise practical doing. The learned should be applied in the same course.

Courses with working exposure for all kinds of subjects and topics (planning, accounting, book writing, cultivation methods, soil & water conservation etc.). Hands on can and should be also part of other skills based training courses whenever feasible.
